The headline reads, “Campbell Soup Updates Alexa Skill for Amazon Echo Show”. The press release goes on to say …

“We anticipate that visual and voice technology will change the way our brands connect with our consumers,” said Greg Shewchuk, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer for Campbell Soup Company. “The Campbell’s Kitchen skill brings new utility to the connected kitchen by encouraging users to engage, discover and cook meal solutions that work for their busy schedules.”

Campbell is now able to guide users step-by-step through the cooking experience using audio and visual cues. By simply downloading the skill and saying “Alexa, open Campbell’s Kitchen” users will be able to:

  • Hear, see and follow along with the touchscreen enabled recipe content, including ingredients and cooking steps
  • Seamlessly navigate lists of recipes, ingredients and directions for more than 3,000 Campbell’s Kitchen recipes
  • Hear contextually relevant recipe content for seasons or holidays
  • Search by recipe category (including main ingredients, cuisine type, prep-method and effort)
  • Send the recipe to themselves via email

Campbell was one of the first food companies to implement Alexa voice technology in 2015. Since the launch, the Campbell’s Kitchen skill has connected with consumers, receiving over 50,000 unique sign-ups and suggesting more than 174,000 recipes to its users.
